How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role and school

    Teach Plus are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and energetic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Slough, starting ASAP. This full-time Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils in a Reception class, assisting the class teacher with engaging lessons and delivering targeted interventions, including Phonics, to small groups of children. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting early years development, building confidence and helping pupils develop essential literacy, communication and social skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience, with Graduate Teaching Assistants encouraged to apply.

    Job Responsibilities

    Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities within a Reception class.
    Deliver small-group interventions, including Phonics, to support early literacy and language development.
    Provide one-to-one support for pupils who require additional assistance with learning, communication or social development.
    Encourage positive behaviour, pupil engagement and independence throughout the school day.
    Assist with preparing classroom resources and creating a safe, stimulating learning environment.
    Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with the class teacher regarding individual needs and achievements.Qualifications/Experience

    Minimum of 3 months UK experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
    Strong passion for working with children
    Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
    Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
