We are delighted to be partnering with our client, a very well established business-winning civil engineering firm based in Nottingham, on recruiting it's newest hire into the Commercial team - an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
The role will offer:

The QS will be working on a variety of projects, primarily for Tier-One contractors and experience across groundworks is necessary.
Day to day you will:
* Prepare and submit monthly valuations
* Identify, price and agree variations
* Manage subcontractor accounts and payments
* Monitor project costs, forecasts and profitability
* Produce monthly cost-value reconciliations
* Review drawings, specifications and contract information
* Support procurement of subcontractors and materials
* Attend client and internal commercial meetings
* Manage contractual notices, contra-charges and commercial correspondence
* Work closely with site teams to ensure all completed work is properly recorded and recovered
* Agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Previous Quantity Surveying experience within groundworks, civil engineering or residential construction
* Good knowledge of roads, sewers and housing plot works
* Strong Excel, measurement and commercial reporting skills
* Confidence in managing valuations, variations and subcontract accounts
* To be commercially aware, organised and comfortable taking ownership
* The ability to build effective working relationships with clients, site teams and suppliers
* A relevant commercial or construction qualification is preferred, although practical experience is equally important
* Full UK driving licence
