How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Domestic Abuse Practitioner

    Location: Stoke-on-Trent

    Salary: £26,266.60

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you’ll provide compassionate, person-centred support to adults and families affected by domestic abuse, helping them rebuild their lives and move towards a safer future. From referral through to independent living, you’ll work closely with individuals to deliver tailored support around housing, safety, wellbeing, finances and recovery. Working alongside partner agencies, you’ll advocate for customers, manage risk, and empower people to achieve positive outcomes while living free from abuse.

    What you’ll do:

    * Process referrals, assess risk and support needs, and manage accommodation allocations and voids.

    * Deliver tailored, person-centred support around housing, safety, wellbeing, health and finances.

    * Work with customers, partner agencies and multi-agency forums to advocate for needs and coordinate support.

    * Maintain accurate records, complete monitoring requirements, and ensure information is stored securely.

    * Support the day-to-day running of the service, including housing management, on-call response and safe accommodation standards.

    * Help customers move into and on from accommodation safely, building the skills, confidence and independence needed for the future.

    Who you are:

    * A good level of education such as GCSE English and maths, or equivalent.

    * Experience delivering support to customers, recognising their individual needs, making sure they have access to opportunities, all while meeting set deadlines.

    * Experience supporting adults with complex needs such as relationship abuse and mental health.

    * Knowledge of housing and health and safety requirements in a safe accommodation setting.

    * An understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on those affected by it and the legal and practical remedies available to them.

    * The ability to work well under pressure and in complex situations.

    * Great written and verbal communication skills.

    * A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for work.

    * DBS check.
