How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Due to continued growth within the transportation sector, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Project Lead Engineer to join a specialist Building Engineering team.You will lead the delivery of complex rail and transport projects across a diverse portfolio, from early-stage feasibility through to construction and completion. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical leadership, coordinate project resources and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.Key responsibilities will include:

    Leading multidisciplinary design teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
    Managing the delivery of MEP engineering packages across major transportation projects.
    Overseeing design assurance and compliance with relevant rail and transportation standards.
    Acting as a technical advisor on electrical engineering matters where required.
    Managing project programmes, resources and design deliverables.
    Coordinating with internal disciplines, clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
    Supporting business development activities, bids and client relationship management.
    Identifying and mitigating project risks while maintaining programme, quality and budget objectives.
    Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineering teams.
    Helping shape the future direction of transportation and rail engineering capability within the business.Projects include major rail stations, rail depots, transport interchanges, aviation facilities and nationally significant infrastructure developments.What you'll need to succeed
    To be considered, you should possess:

    Chartered Engineer status (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent professional accreditation.
    Strong multidisciplinary MEP design experience within a consultancy environment.
    Proven experience delivering transportation, rail or infrastructure projects.
    Strong understanding of rail design standards, assurance processes and compliance requirements.
    Experience leading engineering teams through design and construction stages.
    Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
    Ability to coordinate complex project teams and manage competing priorities.
    Experience supporting bids, tenders and business development activities.
    A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing others.An electrical engineering background would be advantageous, although candidates from a broader MEP leadership background will also be considered.What you'll get in return
