How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Agricultural Machinery Lecturer

    / Agricultural Engineering Tutor

    £40 - £50 per hour + Full Academic Year (6-12 Months) + Immediate Start + Long-Term Contract

    Ipswich, Suffolk (Commutable from: Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Manningtree, Hadleigh, Colchester, Bury St Edmunds)

    Are you an Agricultural Machinery Lecturer, Agricultural Engineering Tutor or Land-Based Machinery Trainer looking for your next immediately available contract role, offering a full academic year assignment within a well-established college?

    Do you have experience delivering training within Further Education or apprenticeships, or are you a hands-on agricultural machinery professional (tractors, implements and modern farm equipment) ready to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of engineers?

    On offer is a long-term contract where you'll support apprentices and learners working towards their qualifications through high-quality delivery, practical training and structured support, helping them build real, job-ready skills for the agricultural sector.

    In this role you will deliver engaging sessions focused on agricultural machinery and equipment, carry out assessments aligned to NVQ/apprenticeship standards where required, and provide coaching and constructive feedback to keep learners progressing and achieving.

    This role would suit an experienced trainer/lecturer or an agricultural machinery professional looking for a stable, full-year contract based on-site in Ipswich.

    The Role:

    Deliver teaching and practical training focused on agricultural machinery / land-based engineering
    Support and assess learners/apprentices working towards NVQ and apprenticeship standards
    Coach, mentor and provide constructive feedback to support progression and achievement
    Full academic year contract (6-12 months), on-site in Ipswich
    £40 - £50 per hour
    The Person:

    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Agriculture / Land-Based Engineering / Agricultural Engineering (or strong equivalent industry background)
    Current/previous hands-on experience with agricultural machinery / farm equipment
    Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/Level 5 DET) and/or assessing awards (TAQA/A1/D32/D33) preferred but not essential
    Training/lecturing/assessing experience advantageous
    Able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check
