How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client operates within a specialist global engineering environment, designing and manufacturing innovative engineered solutions for major international projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Project Engineer who combines strong project management, mechanical design and manufacturing knowledge and is comfortable taking ownership of projects from initial customer requirements through to manufacture and final delivery.

    The Role
As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects from conception through internal production and delivery, ensuring solutions are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with customers, suppliers, production teams and colleagues across the wider business, translating customer requirements into practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Managing engineering projects from initial concept through manufacture and final delivery
Interpreting customer specifications and translating requirements into effective engineering solutions
Producing detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Preparing engineering reports, manufacturing and fabrication packages, submittal documentation and O&M manuals
Ensuring manufacturing activities meet required quality, environmental, health & safety and engineering standards
Monitoring project schedules, costs and overall delivery
Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting stock monitoring
Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective project delivery
Working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
Supporting continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing processes
Contributing to research and development projects and product improvements
Building effective working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, customers and suppliers
Supporting a safe working environment across production activities About You
We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with a strong combination of design, manufacturing and project delivery experience.

    Ideally, you will have:

An HNC, HND or Degree in Engineering
Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
    Strong hands-on experience using SolidWorks
    Experience with AutoCAD
Excellent understanding of engineering and manufacturing drawings
Knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining processes
Understanding of geometric tolerancing and relevant industrial standards, including ANSI and DIN
A general understanding of electrical engineering
Strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgement
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
The ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver against project deadlines
Strong written, verbal and numerical skills
Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels Experience using Microsoft Project, Word and Excel, alongside an ERP system such as Business Central, would also be advantageous.

    The Opportunity
This position offers the opportunity to take real ownership of engineering projects within a specialist manufacturing environment, working across the complete project lifecycle from customer specification and design through to manufacture and delivery.

The role is primarily office-based in Stockton-on-Tees, with occasional UK and overseas travel required.

If you're an experienced Project Engineer looking for your next opportunity within a technically interesting and internationally focused engineering business, we'd love to hear from you
