How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new role
    As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of a wide range of building services projects from initial concept through to completion. You will take ownership of electrical design packages, lead projects where appropriate, and support the development of junior engineers within the team.Key responsibilities include:

    Managing and delivering electrical building services designs across multiple projects.
    Acting as Project Leader on selected schemes.
    Attending client meetings and presenting technical solutions.
    Producing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
    Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
    Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
    Supporting the development of client relationships and helping secure repeat business.
    Contributing to the technical excellence and continuous improvement of the electrical team.
    Being actively involved throughout all project stages, from feasibility through to completion.What you'll need to succeed
    To be successful in this role, you should possess:

    A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. HNC/HND qualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
    Experience within a building services consultancy environment.
    Working towards Chartered Engineer status or already professionally accredited.
    Proficiency with industry-standard software including Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Revit and Microsoft Office applications.
    Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry best practice.
    Experience designing LV electrical systems with an understanding of HV systems desirable.
    Knowledge of renewable technologies, embedded generation and sustainable design principles.
    Familiarity with BREEAM requirements.
    Knowledge of healthcare projects and HTM guidance would be advantageous.
    Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
    A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.What you'll get in return
