How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant
    Start Date: ASAP

    Contract: Full Time
    Salary: £110 - £130 per day

    About the role and school

    Teach Plus are currently recruiting for a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Edgware, starting ASAP. This full-time Teaching Assistant role will involve providing dedicated support to a child in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to help the pupil access learning, develop their communication and social skills, and build confidence and independence within the classroom.

    The school is a large, inclusive primary school with a strong community ethos and a commitment to ensuring every child feels valued and supported. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum within a positive learning environment, supported by experienced leadership and a collaborative staff team. Inclusion and pupil wellbeing are central to the school's approach, with teachers and support staff working closely together to meet the individual needs of pupils.

    This Teaching Assistant position would particularly suit someone with previous experience supporting children with ASD or other special educational needs. The school is looking for a patient, nurturing and adaptable Teaching Assistant who can build a positive relationship with the pupil and provide consistent support throughout the school day. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive primary school and make a genuine difference to a child's educational, social and emotional development.

    Job Responsibilities

    Provide dedicated support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD
    Support the pupil in accessing classroom learning and participating in activities
    Implement appropriate strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and engagement
    Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions
    Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent support
    Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt support according to their individual needsQualifications/Experience

    Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
    Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
    Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
