How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Industrial Sales - Area Manager

    Location: Warrington Area (North West, UK)
    Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 basic + up to £10,000 annual bonus + company car
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting for an ambitious and commercially driven Industrial Sales - Area Manager to join a growing and well-established business operating within the industrial and packaging machinery sector.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a proven background in packaging machinery sales and industrial B2B business development to take ownership of an established territory and drive further growth across the UK market.

    Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will be responsible for developing long-term customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering tailored machinery and automation solutions to manufacturing, production and packaging businesses.

    The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a consultative sales approach and a passion for helping customers improve efficiency, productivity and operational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage and develop relationships with existing customers across your territory.
    Identify, target and secure new business opportunities within manufacturing, packaging and industrial markets.
    Promote and sell packaging machinery, industrial equipment and associated solutions.
    Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations and technical sales presentations.
    Generate and follow up quotations, negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close sales opportunities.
    Understand customer production processes and recommend suitable machinery and equipment solutions.
    Work closely with internal engineering, service and customer support teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
    Monitor customer projects from initial enquiry through to installation and after-sales support.
    Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and market intelligence.
    Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events to develop brand awareness and generate leads.
    Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
    Accurately update CRM systems and maintain detailed sales records.
    Contribute towards the achievement of company sales targets and strategic growth plans.

    About You

    Essential

    Proven experience in industrial B2B sales.
    Previous success selling packaging machinery or related capital equipment.
    Strong understanding of manufacturing, production and packaging environments.
    Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and grow existing accounts.
    Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
    Ability to manage a sales territory independently and effectively.
    Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Based within a commutable distance of Warrington.

    Highly Desirable

    Experience selling automation, packaging equipment, conveyor systems or production machinery.
    Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery applications.
    Knowledge of industrial engineering environments.
    Experience working with blue-chip manufacturing or FMCG customers.
    Ability to provide consultative solutions and understand return-on-investment proposals.

    Working Arrangements

    This is a predominantly field-based position, focused on developing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

    Typically, you will spend:

    3-4 days per week visiting customers and prospecting throughout your territory.
    1-2 days per week working from the office, attending meetings, updating CRM records and collaborating with colleagues.
