Fortress Recruit is working with a well-established Defence manufacturing organisation to appoint a Project Manager, based out of their site in Poole.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a technical or engineering background to take responsibility for a range of new development and bespoke manufacturing projects within a highly regulated defence environment. You’ll support projects through key stages of the lifecycle, working closely with engineering, operations, quality and commercial teams to ensure projects remain on track and customer requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the planning and delivery of assigned projects from development through to production
* Managing project scope, actions, risks and change throughout the project lifecycle
* Monitoring project progress against agreed timescales, milestones and budgets
* Working closely with engineering and operational teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving
* Acting as a key point of contact for customers and supporting effective stakeholder relationships
* Preparing regular project, budget, schedule and milestone reports
* Coordinating project documentation and ensuring contractual and customer requirements are met
* Supporting cost and revenue forecasting for assigned projects
* Maintaining project records, meeting actions and configuration control
* Identifying opportunities to improve project processes, reporting and delivery
To be considered for this role, you'll have:
* A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering, technical or project management discipline would be advantageous
* APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification would be advantageous
* Experience in Project Management within a technical, engineering, manufacturing or defence environment
* Experience working on engineering, NPD, NPI or bespoke manufacturing projects
* An understanding of project planning, risk, cost, quality and change management
* Good organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
* Good communication skills and the confidence to work with customers and internal stakeholders
* A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload and priorities
* The ability to investigate issues, ask questions and use information to make sensible decisions
