How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Development Manufacturing Engineer

    Magnus Search are looking for a Development Manufacturing Engineer to join a rapidly growing international company based in Exeter.

    Working closely with NPD, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and other teams, you will ensure products are practical, repeatable, cost-effective and designed for efficient manufacture and assembly.

    Development Manufacturing Engineer Key Responsibilities

    * Provide manufacturing expertise throughout the product development process, challenging designs and recommending practical improvements.

    * Identify manufacturing, assembly, tooling, material and tolerance issues at an early stage.

    * Review designs to ensure they are suitable for manufacture and meet required engineering standards.

    * Lead and support prototype and pre-production builds, design reviews and DFMEA activities.

    * Identify manufacturing risks and ensure appropriate actions are implemented.

    * Lead R&D projects, managing deadlines, stakeholders and project progress.

    * Work with Production Engineering to deliver cost reduction, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Development Manufacturing Engineer About You

    * Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Strong manufacturing and engineering design knowledge, ideally with sheet metal and assembly experience.

    * Experience with engineering drawings, specifications and 3D CAD/2D technical drawings.

    * Strong understanding of materials, tolerances and manufacturing processes.

    * Good project management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * Well organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.

    * Desirable: FMEA training, domestic heating experience, folding simulation, Solid Edge, PDM/PLM or ERP experience, and Lean/continuous improvement knowledge.
