Are you an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with a background in major infrastructure, utilities or power projects looking for your next contract opportunity within the Transmission & Distribution sector?
We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major energy infrastructure contractor, working within their Overhead Lines Commercial Team on a project based in South Lanarkshire.
You will take a key role in the commercial management of the project, working closely with the project and commercial teams to maximise profitability, manage commercial risk and ensure effective contract and subcontract management.
The role will cover financial reporting, forecasting, compensation events, variations, claims, subcontractor management and CVRs, so we are looking for someone with strong commercial experience and a good working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
Managing the commercial performance of the project
Preparing commercial reports, claims and contractual documentation
Managing and monitoring project risks and maintaining risk registers
Managing subcontractors and suppliers, including quotations, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
Managing compensation events, variations and contract costs
Identifying delays, changes and potential commercial claims
Producing financial reports, forecasts and cost/value reconciliations
Working closely with Project Managers and the wider commercial team
Maintaining accurate commercial and site records
Supporting improvements to commercial processes and project profitability
Requirements
Previous experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Strong major infrastructure or utilities experience
Electrical Transmission / Overhead Lines experience would be highly advantageous
Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4
Experience with compensation events, variations and claims
Strong subcontract management experience
Experience producing CVRs and commercial forecasts
Good knowledge of contract costing and contract law
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Quantity Surveying qualification
Standard DBS check
CSCS preferred
This is an Inside IR35 position, offering £750 per day PAYE, with the initial contract running until 27 June 2027.
