How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Operations Manager – Care Homes
    West Midlands
    £80,000–£90,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

Leaders in Care is exclusively recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join a growing care home provider, overseeing a portfolio of 7 homes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Care Home Operations Manager, Regional Manager or senior operational leader who enjoys being close to their Registered Managers, improving quality and building strong, stable teams.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have a strong clinical background within older people’s care, nursing homes, complex care or neurological care. Nurse qualification would be highly advantageous.

    The Role

As Operations Manager, you will take operational responsibility for a portfolio of care homes, working closely with Registered Managers to improve quality, governance, leadership and commercial performance.

The focus is on creating strong, accountable Registered Managers who feel properly supported, supervised and challenged to deliver excellent outcomes.

During your first 6 months, priorities will include:

Building stability and consistency across the Registered Manager team
Providing hands-on leadership, coaching and support to Home Managers
Improving governance and ensuring actions are properly followed through
Driving quality improvement and maintaining strong CQC standards
Supporting homes through CQC and Local Authority inspections
Reviewing operational performance, KPIs, occupancy and financial results
Challenging underperformance constructively and putting improvement plans in place

Experience supporting and developing Registered Managers
A strong understanding of care home commercial and operational KPIs
Clinical operations experience within older people’s care, nursing, complex care or neurological services
The confidence to challenge performance while maintaining a supportive leadership style
Experience supporting services through inspections and quality improvement
A nursing qualification would be a significant advantageThe Package:

    £80,000–£90,000 salary
    Performance-related bonus linked to EBITDA
    Car allowance
    Mileage allowance
    Overnight accommodation paid when required
    Protected home-working time
Excellent opportunity to influence the development of a growing care home portfolioLocation & Travel:

We are particularly looking for someone based in the West Midlands who is comfortable travelling regularly between services.

The role will typically involve approximately 3–4 days per week across the homes, with protected time to work from home.

    Why Consider This Role?

There is a genuine opportunity here to make your mark.

The organisation wants its Registered Managers to feel supported and empowered while also having clear accountability around quality, governance, people and commercial performance.

You’ll have the autonomy to get back to the fundamentals of good care home operations, strengthen the management structure and help create a consistent operating model as the organisation continues to grow.
