How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are working in partnership with a leading Facilities Management and Infrastructure Services provider to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager for a major Healthcare PFI contract in the West Midlands.

    This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for the commercial performance of a long-term healthcare partnership, delivering critical services across a complex acute healthcare environment.

    Client Details

    Our client are a well known Property and Infrastructure business looking to add a Senior Commercial Manager to a Midlands based Healthcare contract.

    Description

    Lead all commercial activities across a complex Healthcare PFI contract.
    Manage contract profitability, cost control and margin improvement initiatives.
    Oversee lifecycle programme commercial management and change control processes.
    Lead negotiation of contractual variations, compensation events and service amendments.
    Provide commercial governance and reporting to senior stakeholders.
    Manage and develop commercial teams, quantity surveyors and commercial analysts.
    Drive effective subcontractor procurement and commercial performance management.
    Ensure compliance with PFI contractual obligations and payment mechanisms.
    Support business planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.
    Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    Build strong relationships with NHS Trust stakeholders, SPVs, investors and supply chain partners.

    Profile

    The ideal Senior Commercial Manager candidate will possess:

    Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager within Facilities Management, Healthcare Estates or Infrastructure services.
    Strong understanding of Healthcare PFI contracts and payment mechanisms.
    Experience managing complex contractual relationships and lifecycle programmes.
    Demonstrable success delivering commercial improvements and financial performance.
    Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
    Experience leading commercial teams within a high-value service environment.
    Strong commercial acumen with a strategic and analytical mindset.
    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar discipline.
    MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent qualification desirable.
