How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Learning and Development Manager

£45,000–£52,000 DOE | Professional Services | Newly Created Role (Base: Spalding)

A leading professional services organisation is seeking an organised, credible and engaging Learning and Development Manager to take full ownership of its people development strategy. This newly created role offers the opportunity to elevate the learning experience across multiple sites and act as the organisation’s trusted expert in all matters relating to development, capability and progression.

Working as part of the People Team, and with regular travel to local offices, you will play a central role in shaping a consistent, high‑quality learning environment that supports colleagues at every stage of their career.

    About the Role

This is a hands‑on, influential position for an L&D professional who enjoys designing, implementing and embedding structured learning solutions. You will introduce a clear, scalable approach to learning that supports capability, compliance and long‑term organisational growth.

    You will take ownership of:

    *

Defining and delivering an L&D strategy aligned to organisational priorities and regulatory requirements.

    *

Creating structured learning pathways and development routes that support role readiness, progression and leadership capability.

    *

Overseeing learning systems, compliance training and audit‑ready records.

    *

Supporting managers and leadership teams to embed learning, build capability and foster a culture of continuous development.

    *

Managing end‑to‑end L&D administration to ensure a smooth, consistent and high‑quality learner journey.

    A Major Focus: Early Careers

Early Careers will be a significant and high‑impact part of this role. You will take full responsibility for how the organisation attracts, develops and supports future talent, ensuring a structured, consistent and professional experience from entry point through to progression.

    Key responsibilities include:

    *

Designing a clear Early Careers framework covering apprentices, trainees, solicitor apprentices, graduates and entry‑level pathways.

    *

Creating defined development routes that support progression from entry level through to qualified or senior roles.

    *

Coordinating and conducting inductions, learning plans, reviews and ongoing support to ensure early career colleagues receive a dependable, well‑managed development experience.

    *

Building mentoring programmes that strengthen engagement, confidence and long‑term retention.

    *

Developing capability‑building programmes blending technical training, behavioural development and professional skills.

    *

Strengthening employer brand visibility through active engagement with universities, colleges, career fairs and professional networks.

    *

Managing relationships with external partners to support apprenticeships, qualifications and accredited learning.

    *

Creating a sustainable pipeline of future talent that supports organisational growth and succession planning.

    Why This Role Matters

This is not a maintenance role. It is a build, elevate and lead opportunity. You will be the organisation’s expert voice on Learning and Development, trusted to set direction, introduce best‑practice approaches and raise capability and consistency across all sites.

    Who This Will Suit

An experienced Learning and Development professional with a background in professional services or a regulated environment. Someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery, and who is confident taking ownership of a function and leading it with clarity, credibility and influence.

    Additional Information

    *

Full‑time position with an element of flexible working once established.

    *

A car and driving licence are required due to regional travel.

    *

    Generous benefits package.

    *

Part of a forward‑thinking, growing organisation with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and truly stamp your mark
