How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An established specialist contractor and surveying business operating within the Passive Fire Protection and Building Safety sector is looking to appoint a Head of Sales to lead and develop its commercial function.

As Head of Sales you will:

Lead and develop the sales strategy across new-build and remedial Passive Fire Protection projects
Identify new markets, clients and opportunities for growth
Develop senior relationships across housing, construction and public-sector organisations
Drive opportunities through frameworks, tenders and procurement processes
Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality tenders and commercial proposals

Work closely with surveying, technical and operational teams to develop commercially viable solutions
Monitor market developments, legislation and regulatory requirements affecting fire safety and building complianceThe person:

We are looking for an established Head of Sales or business development professional from Passive Fire Protection, fire safety, building compliance or a closely related construction environment.

    You'll ideally bring:

Strong knowledge of the Passive Fire Protection sector, or related subcontract package (drylining, fit-out, M&E)
Experience working within the housing, construction or building safety markets
A good understanding of current fire safety legislation, building regulations and compliance requirements
Experience of public-sector frameworks, tenders and procurement processes
A proven track record of winning new business and developing key client relationships
The commercial confidence to engage at senior level with clients and stakeholders
The ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to business developmentTo apply:

This is an opportunity to join a specialist business at an important stage of its growth, with genuine scope to shape the commercial strategy, develop new markets and make a significant impact on the future direction of the business as Head of Sales.
