How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £42,000 per annum
Ashley Kate is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced HR Advisor. Based on site in Derby you will work a 39-hour week with a 12:00pm finish on a Friday. This is a 14-month FTC.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong HR generalist who enjoys a varied role and thrives on building relationships with managers across the business. Working closely with the Operations Director, you will play a key role in delivering day-to-day HR support, with a particular focus on employee relations, coaching managers and providing practical people advice.
The business has experienced significant growth in recent years and operates within highly regulated engineering sectors, including aerospace, and defence. As a result, they are looking for an HR professional who can confidently support operational managers, drive best practice and contribute to an engaging and high-performing workplace culture.

    The Role
As HR Advisor, you will provide a comprehensive HR service across the employee lifecycle, ensuring policies, procedures and employment legislation are applied consistently and effectively. You will also have responsibility for the management and development of an HR Coordinator, helping to ensure the smooth running of the HR function.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Acting as the first point of contact for managers, providing coaching and guidance on a wide range of people matters.
Managing and advising on employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance issues and investigations.
Supporting managers in developing their people management capability and ensuring a consistent approach across the business.
Providing advice on employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice.
Leading and supporting recruitment activities, from sourcing and selection through to onboarding, whilst identifying opportunities to improve attraction strategies and reduce recruitment costs.
Working alongside the Site Operations Director and People Director to support operational and tactical HR initiatives.
Managing and developing the HR Coordinator, ensuring a high-quality HR service is delivered across the business.
Supporting workforce planning and talent development initiatives.
Promoting company values and fostering a positive and inclusive culture throughout the organisation.
    About You
We're keen to speak with HR professionals who can demonstrate:

Previous experience in a broad generalist HR Advisor role.
Strong employee relations experience and confidence managing complex casework.
The ability to coach, influence and challenge managers at all levels.
Experience supporting recruitment and talent attraction activities.
Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
CIPD level 5 qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous but not essentialThis role would suit an experienced HR Advisor looking for a position where they can make a genuine impact, work closely with senior leadership and further develop their career within a growing and successful organisation.
