How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our Vacancy

    We are looking for a proactive and organised Compliance Officer to join our Building Safety and Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who is passionate about resident safety and delivering outstanding customer service. Working across key compliance areas including heating, water, lifts and electrical safety, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve and maintain 100% compliance while ensuring our residents remain safe in their homes.

    What You Will Be Doing

    As Compliance Officer, you will coordinate compliance servicing and maintenance programmes, monitor contractor performance, and maintain accurate safety and compliance records. You will support performance reporting and internal audits, investigate complaints, manage difficult access cases, and help identify opportunities for service improvement. The role also involves working closely with residents, contractors and colleagues to promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.

    What You Will Need

    You will have strong administrative experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience analysing and reporting data are essential. We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a keen eye for detail. Knowledge of compliance-related services, safety regulations or contract management would be advantageous, along with experience handling complaints and delivering high levels of customer service.

    Why join us

    When you join Town and Country Housing, you're joining a team guided by our values, Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included and empowered.

    What we offer

    * Annual Salary £32,148

    * Contributory pension scheme up to 10% matched contributions

    * Life assurance of 4x annual salary (Terms and Conditions apply)

    * 30 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays

    * Two volunteer days per year

    * 24/7 digital GP service and counselling helpline (including face-to-face sessions)

    * Free annual eye test voucher and contribution towards glasses

    * Enhanced maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave provision

    * Flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal

    * Annual flu vaccinations
