How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support water infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role will involve commissioning, testing and inspecting electrical systems across operational water-sector sites, ensuring that installations are safe, compliant and ready for service. Previous experience within the water sector is essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Commissioning electrical systems and equipment across water treatment and infrastructure projects
    Carrying out electrical testing, inspections and functional checks
    Reviewing commissioning documentation, test results and project records
    Identifying faults and supporting the resolution of electrical and commissioning issues
    Working closely with project, engineering and site teams to meet commissioning requirements
    Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures and relevant industry standards
    Supporting the safe handover of completed electrical installations

    Job Requirements:

    Previous electrical commissioning experience within the water sector
    Strong electrical engineering knowledge and practical commissioning skills
    Valid CSCS card
    Experience of electrical testing and inspection is desirable
    Understanding of site health and safety requirements
    Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation
    Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault finding
    Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers and wider project teams
