How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manager, Warehouse/Distribution

    Summary of the role

    The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and developing the warehouse function within a manufacturing environment, bringing together Goods In, Stores, and Pack & Despatch operations into one collaborative and high-performing team. It will ensure the efficient flow of materials from receipt through production support to customer shipment, while driving inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

    Role and Responsibilities

    Warehouse Operations

    ·   Manage day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, material handling, shipping, and distribution.

    ·   Ensure the timely availability and efficient flow of materials across inbound, warehouse, production support, and outbound operations to meet business and customer requirements.

    ·   Develop, implement, and continuously improve warehouse processes, policies, layouts, and logistics operations to drive efficiency and operational performance.

    Inventory Management

    ·   Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records through warehouse management and ERP systems.

    ·   Lead cycle counting, stock audits, and annual physical inventory processes.

    ·   Investigate stock discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

    Team Leadership

    ·   Recruit, lead, develop and support warehouse team members.

    ·   Establish performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.

    ·   Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

    Safety & Compliance

    ·   Promote a strong health, safety, and quality culture across warehouse activities.

    ·   Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA/health and safety regulations, quality management standards and audit requirements

    ·   Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

    Continuous Improvement

    ·   Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement initiatives.

    ·   Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales Support and Logistics teams to drive improvements in warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, productivity, and material flow.

    Reporting & Administration

    ·   Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational performance against targets.

    ·   Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance records are maintained.

    Skills and Qualifications

    ·   Qualification in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

    ·   5+ years of warehouse management experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience of managing stores, goods-in and dispatch functions.

    ·   Forklift licence/certification.

    ·   Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow.

    ·   Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    ·   Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office; EFACS and/or SAP experience would be beneficial. 

    ·   Knowledge of Known Consignor/Known Shipper requirements preferred.

    Travel

    This role is based fully on-site in Aylesbury.
