How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Shift Maintenance Engineer

    Leeds – LS12
    £39,275 basic + Overtime | OTE £42,000+
    8-Hour Shifts | Monday to Friday | Permanent

    Looking for a maintenance role with 8-hour shifts rather than 12-hour days?

    We’re recruiting a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds.

    This is a permanent opportunity offering a £39,275 basic salary, regular overtime opportunities and an OTE of £42,000+.

    You'll join an established engineering team carrying out a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance across a busy manufacturing site.

    The Shift Pattern

    You'll work a rotating 3-shift pattern across Monday to Friday, working 8-hour shifts:

    * Mornings: 06:15 – 14:15

    * Afternoons: 14:15 – 22:15

    * Nights: 22:15 – 06:15

    * 8-hour shifts

    * Monday to Friday

    * Overtime available

    What You'll Be Doing

    As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping production machinery running efficiently, including:

    * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

    * Reactive maintenance and breakdown response

    * Electrical and mechanical fault finding

    * Repairing and maintaining production machinery

    * Working with motors, sensors and control systems

    * Mechanical maintenance involving bearings, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics

    * Recording maintenance activity through CMMS

    * Supporting engineering improvements and projects

    * Working with production teams to reduce downtime

    What We're Looking For

    We'd like to hear from engineers with experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

    You could currently be working as a:

    Shift Engineer | Maintenance Engineer | Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer | Multi Skilled Engineer | Electrical Maintenance Engineer | Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | Engineering Technician | Maintenance Technician

    Ideally, you'll have:

    * Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

    * Strong fault-finding ability

    * Experience maintaining production or manufacturing equipment

    * An electrical or mechanical engineering qualification/apprenticeship

    * Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance

    * Ability to read engineering drawings or electrical schematics

    * A practical, hands-on approach to engineering

    You don't need to be purely electrically or mechanically biased – we're interested in engineers who are comfortable working across both disciplines.
