How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Mobile Plant Fitter

    Location: Bristol and within 100 miles from the Bristol area

    Job Type: Permanent, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5pm (call out as and when required), Overtime available

    Salary: up too £24per hour (dependant on experience)

    Overview:

    Unify are delighted to be recruiting for a Plant Fitter to work across the Bristol and surrounding areas. You will be joining a leading provider of Plant Hire, Transport and Haulage service throughout the UK who are currently undergoing remarkable growth.

    As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be tasked with maintaining and rectify faults on construction plant equipment, including diagnosing faults, repairs, and servicing.

    What do I need?

    * Proven experience in maintaining, servicing and repairing construction or heavy plant equipment

    * Relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Construction Plant Mechanics, Agricultural Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

    * Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding abilities.

    * Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

    * Confident communication skills, with the ability to deal with customers professionally and provide clear updates and reports.

    * Own tooling

    * Ability to work independently.

    * A full UK Driving Licence is essential.

    * Flexibility to help delivery the best customer service and be able to fulfil customer needs

    Responsibilities:

    * Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.

    * Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using suitable testing and diagnostic tools.

    * Respond to machinery breakdowns on customer sites within your designated area, ensuring downtime is minimised.

    * Inspect, test and confirm the performance of equipment, ensuring any faults are identified and resolved before returning it to service.

    * Maintain accurate records, including service reports, job sheets, parts usage and inspection documents.

    * Ensure all equipment complies with relevant health and safety regulations, including LOLER and PUWER.

    * Carry out servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturers recommended schedules and guidelines

    * Always represent the business professionally, acting as a reliable point of contact for customers
