How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Teaching Assistant

    Barnet London | EYFS and Primary Autism Support

    Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary |  Start: November 2026

    Salary: £105–£120 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. The highest rate is reserved for candidates with substantial relevant SEND experience and/or specialist training.

    Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only).

    Setting: EYFS and primary SEND special school.

    About the role

    Help a child find a way to ask for help, join a shared activity or feel comfortable in a new routine. Teach Now is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for an EYFS and primary special school in Barnet, supporting children with autism, communication differences and additional learning needs.

    This setting centres learning on play, familiar routines and achievable steps. Your day will combine classroom support with focused communication work, sensory breaks and practical learning. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will help children participate in their own way while building the trust that makes progress possible.

    Key responsibilities

    ·         Provide 1:1 and small-group support through play, early learning and classroom activities.

    ·         Use visual timetables, objects of reference and agreed communication approaches.

    ·         Support emotional regulation, transitions, play times and lunchtime routines.

    ·         Assist with toileting and personal care where required, maintaining dignity and following care plans.

    ·         Record small steps in progress and share observations with teachers and the SENCO.

    Requirements

    ·         Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting is essential, including autism and communication needs.

    ·         Confidence working with EYFS or primary pupils and adapting activities to developmental needs.

    ·         A patient, observant approach; experience with visual communication or AAC is welcome.

    You must be based in the UK, have the right to work in the UK and be able to commit to a long-term placement. Visa sponsorship is not available. A strong commitment to safeguarding is essential.
