How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN

    Borehamwood, Hertfordshire | £93-£113 Per Day | Full-Time | Long-Term | November Start

    Start Date: November 2026 - After October Half-Term

    Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Borehamwood from November.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, LSAs or SEN support staff who are passionate about helping children with additional needs make progress, develop independence and enjoy school.

    The School

    The school is a smaller-than-average, one-form-entry primary school with around 180 pupils from Nursery through to Year 6. It offers a friendly, close-knit environment where staff work collaboratively and build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

    The school has a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, independence and achievement, with its most recent Ofsted inspection rating the school's early years provision, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management as Good.

    The Roles

    The successful Teaching Assistants will provide a combination of 1:1, small-group and classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

    You may be supporting:

    EYFS pupils who are minimally verbal, helping develop communication, engagement and early learning skills.
    KS1 pupils with autism, supporting access to learning, independence and positive behaviour.
    KS2 pupils with SEMH needs, helping with emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence and engagement.
    Pupils requiring additional support to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
    Small groups and individuals through differentiated and engaging activities.
    Teachers and SEN staff with the implementation of appropriate support strategies.The successful candidates will be expected to build trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining calm, consistent and positive boundaries.

    What We're Looking For

    The school would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are:

    Experienced Teaching Assistants, LSAs or SEN support staff.
    Patient, nurturing and resilient.
    Confident supporting children with autism, communication needs and/or SEMH.
    Calm and consistent when responding to challenging behaviour or emotional needs.
    Able to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
    Adaptable and comfortable working across different primary age groups.
    Reliable and committed to a full-time, long-term position.Previous experience in a primary school, SEN setting, specialist provision or similar environment is highly desirable. Relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
