How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their potential?
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive education environment, working with learners who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people and adults by supporting their learning, independence, wellbeing and progression.
    The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to provide tailored support for learners with a range of additional needs. You will help remove barriers to learning, promote independence, and support students to fully engage with their educational programmes and wider college life.
    Key duties include:
    * Supporting learners within classroom and practical learning environments.
    * Encouraging independence, confidence and self-advocacy skills.
    * Assisting with the implementation of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
    * Providing personal care, mobility and wellbeing support where required.
    * Supporting learners to access specialist equipment and assistive technologies.
    * Working closely with curriculum staff, support managers and external agencies.
    * Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive learning practices.
    * Acting as a First Aider or undertaking First Aid training if required.
    About You
We are looking for someone who has:
    * A passion for supporting young people and adults with SEND.
    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    * The ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff and families.
    * A proactive and flexible approach to work.
    * Good IT skills.
    * An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive learning practices.
    * Level 2 Maths and English or a willingness to achieve these qualifications.
    * A willingness to obtain a First Aid qualification if not already held.
    Desirable Experience
    * Experience supporting learners with SEND, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or complex needs.
    * Experience within a school, college, further education or support setting.
    * Knowledge of EHCPs and person-centred support planning.
    * Makaton, BSL or Sign-a-Long communication skills.
    Why Apply?
    * Rewarding opportunity to positively impact learners' lives.
    * Supportive and collaborative working environment.
    * Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
    * Opportunity to develop specialist SEND knowledge and skills.
    * A role where every day brings variety, challenge and fulfilment.
    Safeguarding
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment
