How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary KS2 Classroom Assistant – Hemel Hempstead

    Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
    Start Date: September
    Contract Type: Full-time
    Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

    Supply Desk are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Primary KS2 Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Hemel Hempstead area, starting this September.

    This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and keen to support pupils across Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

    You will provide classroom and learning support to pupils, helping them access the curriculum, develop their confidence, and achieve their full potential. The role will involve supporting individuals and small groups, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to maintain a positive and well-organised learning environment.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher, graduate, experienced Teaching Assistant, or someone looking to develop their career within primary education. The school offers a supportive environment where professional development and staff wellbeing are valued.

    Responsibilities

    Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons

    Provide one-to-one and small-group support to KS2 pupils

    Assist pupils with their learning across the primary curriculum

    Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials

    Encourage pupils to participate confidently in classroom activities

    Support pupils with developing their academic, social, and emotional skills

    Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

    Support pupils who may require additional help with their learning

    Assist with classroom routines, break times, lunchtimes, and school activities

    Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher

    Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the wider school team

    Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion, and positive behaviour

    Requirements

    Previous experience working with children is desirable

    Experience within a primary school or educational setting is advantageous

    A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

    Good communication and interpersonal skills

    A patient, positive, and enthusiastic approach

    The ability to build positive relationships with pupils

    Good classroom management and organisational skills

    A commitment to inclusive education

    The ability to work effectively as part of a team

    A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
