How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mental Health Assistant - Newbury

    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00/day

    Do you have a genuine interest in children's mental health and wellbeing? Are you looking for an opportunity to support young people who may need additional help with their emotional development and behaviour?

    A supportive and inclusive SEN School in Newbury is seeking a caring Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education, care, youth work, psychology or SEN to develop their skills within a specialist school environment.

    Working as a Mental Health Assistant, you will support pupils who may experience difficulties with emotional regulation, anxiety, behaviour and engagement. You will provide consistent encouragement and reassurance, helping pupils develop positive relationships and access their education successfully.

    This Mental Health Assistant role will involve:

    Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support
    Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties
    Helping pupils recognise and manage their emotions
    Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
    Supporting pupils who may struggle with anxiety or emotional regulation
    Building positive, consistent relationships with young people
    Supporting classroom activities and individual learning
    Helping create a safe and nurturing school environment
    Working closely with Teachers and SEN support staff
