How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mental Health Assistant - Reading

    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00/day
    Start Date: ASAP

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with their emotional wellbeing? Do you have experience working with children, young people or individuals with additional needs and want to develop your experience within education?

    A specialist SEN School in Reading is seeking a compassionate and committed Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school provides a supportive environment for pupils who may require additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour and learning.

    As a Mental Health Assistant, you will provide individualised support to pupils throughout the school day, helping them feel settled, engaged and able to access their education. You will work closely with Teachers and support staff to understand individual needs and build positive relationships with pupils.

    This Mental Health Assistant role will involve:

    Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
    Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties
    Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
    Encouraging positive engagement with learning and classroom activities
    Building trusting and consistent relationships with pupils
    Supporting pupils who may experience anxiety, emotional difficulties or challenging behaviour
    Helping maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment
    Working collaboratively with Teachers and wider support staff
    ASAP start
    Reading location with good transport linksThe school is looking for a Mental Health Assistant who is patient, empathetic and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people's wellbeing. Experience within education, care, mental health or SEN would be advantageous, although relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
