How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Teaching Assistant - Reading

    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00/day
    Start Date: ASAP

    Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children and young people? Are you passionate about education and interested in developing a career supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs?

    A welcoming and inclusive SEN School in Reading is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain hands-on experience within a specialist educational setting while working alongside experienced Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them engage with their learning, build confidence and overcome individual barriers to education. Pupils may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties and complex needs.

    This Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:

    Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
    Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
    Helping pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
    Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
    Supporting the creation of a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
    Working alongside Teachers and experienced SEN staff
    ASAP start
    Reading location with good public transport linksThe school is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant who is patient, enthusiastic and keen to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people. Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential, as the school can provide ongoing support and development.
