How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Be the First in the South

Car Allowance + Bonus + Fully Funded Training
London, Brighton & South East | Hybrid | Flexible Working

An established, BAFE-certified fire safety consultancy is looking for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to become their first South-based Fire Risk Assessor and play a key role in establishing their new London and South East operation.

This is a rare opportunity to get in early and become part of something from the very beginning.

Rather than joining an established regional team, the successful Fire Risk Assessor will work directly with the company directors to help build their London presence, shape the South East operation and support future recruitment as the region grows.

The company also boasts one of the strongest staff retention records within the industry, with a genuine focus on developing, rewarding and retaining their people.

    The Fire Risk Assessor's Role

The Fire Risk Assessor will initially undertake assessments across London, Brighton and the wider South East, while becoming the technical foundation of the company's new southern operation.

    Responsibilities will include:

Completing approximately two FRAs per day

Managing project portfolios alongside the lead validator

Helping establish standards and processes for the London team

Supporting and mentoring future Fire Risk Assessors as the team grows

    Working closely with company directors

Contributing to bespoke FRA software, action tracking and data analytics

As additional Fire Risk Assessors join the South East team, travel areas are expected to become increasingly localised.

    The Fire Risk Assessor

The successful Fire Risk Assessor will ideally have:

2+ years' FRA experience across residential and/or commercial property

A recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification

    Strong technical FRA knowledge

    Level 4 FRA qualifications advantageous

Knowledge of Approved Document B / BS 9999 advantageous

    NFRAR or IFSM registration advantageous

    Full UK driving licence

Ambition to develop into validation, leadership or management

    In Return?

    Competitive salary package

    Strong Benefits Scheme

    Car Allowance

    Hybrid Working

    Fully Funded Training

For a Fire Risk Assessor who wants to get in early, establish themselves within a growing London operation and potentially become a future leader of the South East team, this is an opportunity to be there from day one.
