How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chef de Partie

    Location: Wyboston / Bedford Area
    Salary: £31,200–£33,280 per annum DOE
    Equivalent to £15.00–£16.00 per hour
    Hours: 40 hours per week
    Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join a busy and well-established leisure, spa and hotel venue.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week within a modern, fast-paced kitchen environment. The venue operates across three different catering areas, with this position based primarily within the leisure venue kitchen, supporting hotel, spa and walk-in guests.

The style of food is very different from traditional fine dining or formal events catering. This is a high-volume, on-trend menu focused around popular street-food style dishes including smash burgers, wings, loaded fries and other quick-service meals.

We are therefore looking for a Chef de Partie who enjoys working at pace, can respond quickly to changing demand and thrives in a busy service environment.

    The Role

As Chef de Partie, you will take responsibility for your own section and play a key role in ensuring food is prepared and served quickly, consistently and to a high standard.

    Your duties will include:

Running your own section during busy service periods

Preparing fresh food in line with menus and agreed standards

Completing mise en place ahead of service

Cooking and plating dishes quickly and consistently

Managing both scheduled guest demand and walk-in orders

    Working efficiently during high-volume periods

Maintaining portion control and presentation standards

Monitoring stock levels and reducing unnecessary waste

Rotating stock correctly and following FIFO procedures

    Receiving and checking deliveries

    Assisting with stock takes

    Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene standards

Following food safety, allergen and Health & Safety procedures

Ensuring your section is clean, organised and service-ready

Supporting and supervising junior chefs where required

Delegating tasks appropriately during preparation and service

Working closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams

Supporting other areas of the wider catering operation when required

The business operates as one wider kitchen team across its three locations, so there may occasionally be a requirement to assist elsewhere during holiday cover or particularly busy periods. However, this role will be permanently based within the leisure venue kitchen.

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef ready to step up, who is comfortable working within a fast-moving kitchen.

    You will need:

    Previous professional kitchen experience

Experience running or taking responsibility for a section

The ability to work quickly without compromising quality

Confidence working in a high-volume environment

    Good organisation and time-management skills

Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety

Understanding of allergens and dietary requirements

The ability to remain calm during busy service periods

    A positive, team-focused attitude

The ability to supervise and support junior chefs

Flexibility to work across a seven-day rota

A genuine interest in modern, casual and street-food style menus

Experience within hotels, leisure venues, casual dining, high-volume restaurants, pubs or similar fast-paced kitchens would be particularly relevant.

    Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a strong and established kitchen team within a business that is looking to recruit for the long term.

The company is keen to invest in its people and retain good chefs, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for stability, development and the chance to become an established member of the team.

    You can expect:

    £31,200–£33,280 per annum DOE

    40 contracted hours per week

    Permanent, full-time employment

    Modern, well-equipped kitchen facilities

A fast-paced and varied working environment

A supportive and experienced kitchen team

    Opportunity for long-term development

Exposure to different styles of catering across the wider business

    A modern, on-trend food offering

Genuine opportunity to build a long-term career with the company

If you are an experienced Chef de Partie who enjoys a busy kitchen, likes working at pace and wants to join a team that is looking to invest in people for the long term, we would like to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV and a member of the Interaction Recruitment team will be in touch to discuss the role in more detail.
