How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Previous experience within truck, trailer or commercial vehicle body manufacturing would naturally be advantageous, but is not essential.

Candidates could come from a variety of relevant engineering and manufacturing environments where they have gained an understanding of comparable production processes, people management, quality, Health & Safety and delivery against demanding production schedules.

Depending on the position, relevant backgrounds could include fabrication, welding, automotive, commercial vehicles, transport equipment, heavy engineering, sheet metal, metal forming, assembly, fitting, machinery manufacture or other similar production environments.

The Stores Manager position is the exception, where previous relevant stores, materials, inventory or manufacturing logistics management experience will be required.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will vary according to the department, but will typically include:

    * Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a manufacturing or operational department.

    * Lead, manage and develop production teams to achieve required performance levels.

    * Ensure production targets, schedules and customer delivery requirements are achieved.

    * Plan and coordinate labour, materials and resources according to production requirements.

    * Monitor departmental performance against agreed KPIs and production targets.

    * Drive productivity, efficiency and operational performance.

    * Maintain high standards of product quality and workmanship.

    * Ensure Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices are consistently followed.

    * Identify production issues, bottlenecks and resource constraints and implement appropriate solutions.

    * Work closely with other Production Managers and departments to maintain effective production flow.

    * Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Stores, Planning and other operational functions where required.

    * Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance management.

    * Manage absence, conduct, performance and other day-to-day people-management responsibilities.

    * Promote a positive, accountable and performance-driven working environment.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.

    * Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, quality and efficiency.

    * Provide clear reporting on production performance, issues and departmental requirements.
