How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

    The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing specialist within the plant and construction equipment industry, who have recently expanded their operations through a new franchise bringing CASE construction equipment into their product offering.

As a result of this expansion, they are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer to join their team.

This is a varied role, offering a 60/40 split between workshop and field-based work, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of plant equipment while also attending customer sites across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple manufacturers and types of plant equipment, with strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and the ability to diagnose faults effectively.

Experience with CASE and/or Sunward equipment would be highly advantageous, although full manufacturer training will be provided for the right candidate.

    The Role

As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and fault diagnosis of a variety of construction and plant equipment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
Using diagnostic equipment such as Jaltest to identify and resolve faults.
Attending customer sites across the West Midlands and Warwickshire to carry out repairs and maintenance.
Carrying out inspections and identifying potential issues before they develop into major faults.
Working on a variety of plant equipment and manufacturers.
Completing repair, service and inspection documentation accurately.
Working closely with the workshop and service team to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Supporting breakdown and reactive repair work when required.
Maintaining a high level of customer service when working on customer sites.
Keeping up to date with manufacturer procedures and technical developments.
    About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Fitter, Workshop Engineer or similar.
    Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
Experience fault finding and diagnosing issues on construction or heavy plant equipment.
Experience using Jaltest or similar diagnostic software/equipment.
Ideally, experience working across multiple plant manufacturers.
Previous experience with CASE and/or Sunward equipment would be advantageous.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
A professional approach when dealing with customers on site.
    A full UK driving licence.
    Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a growing business at an exciting stage of its development.

With the introduction of the CASE franchise, you will have the opportunity to expand your manufacturer knowledge and receive training on new equipment, while continuing to work across a varied range of machinery.

The role also offers a genuine balance between workshop and field-based engineering, with the majority of field work focused across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

    You'll also benefit from:
