How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join its friendly and experienced production team.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating press brake machinery to manufacture high-quality components in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Set up and operate press brake machinery in line with job specifications.

    * Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders and technical instructions.

    * Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.

    * Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards.

    * Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks.

    * Adjust machine settings as required to maintain product quality.

    * Handle materials and finished components safely and efficiently.

    * Carry out routine machine maintenance and report any faults promptly.

    * Maintain accurate production and quality records.

    * Keep the work area clean, tidy and organised.

    * Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and manufacturing processes.

    * Work to production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

    * Operate a forklift where required; training can be provided.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience setting and operating press brake machinery within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Any experience with Amada machinery would be highly advantageous.

    You should be:

    * Highly motivated and reliable.

    * Experienced in reading engineering drawings.

    * Accurate with excellent attention to detail.

    * Confident working with machinery and measuring equipment.

    * Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    * Comfortable working as part of a small, busy production team.

    * A good communicator with a practical, hands-on approach.

    * Able to work to tight deadlines without compromising quality.

    * Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining high workplace standards
