How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Showroom Sales Advisor

    Huntingdon
    £12.75 – £16.50 per hour DOE
    Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent
    Flexible Hours Available (Weekend working)

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Showroom Sales Advisor to join a well-established, family-run mobility and furniture business in Huntingdon.

This is a permanent vacancy due to retirement & represents a great opportunity to join a friendly, established team within one of the region’s largest mobility showrooms.

This isn’t a traditional till-based retail role. Customers are often making considered purchases of £1,000–£3,000 or more, so we are looking for somebody who can take the time to understand what a customer needs, build strong product knowledge and confidently recommend the right solution.

You’ll need to enjoy selling, but this is very much consultative rather than pushy sales. Product knowledge, listening skills & the ability to identify opportunities to recommend additional or alternative products are key.

    The Role

Based within the Huntingdon showroom, you’ll work across a wide range of mobility, furniture and independent-living products including:

    Mobility scooters

    Manual and powered wheelchairs

    Rise and recliner chairs

    Beds and furniture

    Stairlifts

    Daily living and mobility aids

You’ll spend much of your time speaking directly with customers, demonstrating products & helping them make the right purchasing decision.

    Your responsibilities will also include:

Welcoming customers into the showroom and understanding their requirements

Providing knowledgeable advice and demonstrating products

Building strong product knowledge through full training

Upselling and recommending suitable additional products where appropriate

Handling telephone, email and online customer enquiries

Following up with customers and providing after-sales support

    Processing sales and associated paperwork

Stock replenishment and general showroom housekeeping

Assisting with deliveries and movement of products

Supporting online orders, returns and customer service queries when required

Helping with marketing and other general duties across the business

    A Varied, Hands-On Position

As a family-run business, everyone plays their part.

The showroom is arranged across three levels, so there is a physical element to the position. You may need to move or reposition furniture & products when demonstrating them to customers.

The business also operates a busy online retail and warehouse operation from the same location. Although this has its own dedicated team, you may occasionally help with online orders, returns, stock or other warehouse-related tasks when needed.

It’s therefore a great role for somebody who likes variety & has a genuine “get stuck in” attitude.

    Who Are We Looking For?

We’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in:

    Retail sales

    Furniture sales

    Showroom sales

    Mobility or healthcare products

    Customer service

Care or support work with strong customer-facing skills

Other consultative or higher-value sales environments

A background in mobility products isn't essential as full product training will be provided.

More importantly, you’ll need to be:

Confident and comfortable speaking with customers

Commercially minded and happy to sell

    Friendly, patient and empathetic

A good listener who can understand individual customer needs

Comfortable recommending and upselling products without using a high-pressure sales approach

    Reliable and trustworthy

Comfortable using computers and handling online, telephone and face-to-face enquiries

Physically comfortable working across a multi-level showroom and moving products where required

Happy to work as part of a small, close-knit team

Flexible and willing to help across different areas of the business

    Hours

The business is happy to consider both full-time and part-time applicants, including candidates looking for school-hours arrangements, depending on experience and availability.

    Typical opening hours are:

    Monday – Friday: approximately 9:30am – 5:00pm
    Saturday: approximately 9:30am – 4:00pm

Saturday working forms part of the team rota, although you would not be expected to work every Saturday. Weekend availability is therefore essential.

The business also operates reduced hours over the Christmas period.

    Pay

£12.75 – £16.50 per hour, depending on experience.

If you have a strong background in retail, furniture, care, customer service or consultative sales and would like to join an established family business where customer service really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV or contact Interaction Recruitment Huntingdon for more information.
