How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join a busy Production Engineering team within a specialist manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for preparing CAD/CAM data for manufacture, programming press brake and laser cutting equipment and ensuring accurate production information is available to keep manufacturing schedules running efficiently.

This position would suit someone with a background in metal fabrication or parts manufacturing who combines CAD experience with practical knowledge of press brake operations. It will appeal to someone who understands how components are actually manufactured and can use that knowledge to turn engineering designs into efficient, production-ready programmes.

    Key Responsibilities
    * Produce CAD/CAM programmes, working with 2D and 3D drawings and converting STP files into production-ready DXF files
    * Remotely programme press brake and laser cutting machinery to support component manufacture against project schedules
    * Upload and maintain accurate production information within the MRP system, ensuring data is available when required by manufacturing
    * Support Design for Manufacture activities, identifying potential production issues and opportunities to improve quality, safety and productivity
    * Identify tooling, jigs, fixtures, equipment and other manufacturing requirements while contributing to process optimisation and continuous improvement

In return you'll receive a salary up to £35k and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.

So if you're looking for a role where you can combine your CAD/CAM knowledge with hands-on manufacturing and press brake experience, get in touch today with Mark Dorey on (url removed), or call on (phone number removed)
