How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent
Working pattern: Office-based during initial training, with hybrid working available once established

    The opportunity

An established international organisation is looking for an early-career IT professional who can communicate confidently in both Japanese and English.

You will provide day-to-day technical support to colleagues in the UK and overseas, working within a small and supportive IT environment. The position offers broad exposure across user support, Microsoft cloud technologies, infrastructure, cybersecurity and technology projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable technical and business skills while building a long-term career in IT.

    What you will do

    • Provide first-line technical support remotely and in person

    • Support colleagues in both Japanese and English

    • Communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders to understand technical problems and explain solutions

    • Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other equipment

    • Support Windows and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

    • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation and equipment preparation

    • Support device and account administration through Microsoft Intune and Entra ID

    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and peripheral issues

    • Maintain accurate IT asset, hardware and software records

    • Carry out routine maintenance, system checks and updates

    • Assist with technology projects, deployments and upgrades

    • Produce and maintain IT documentation, procedures and user guides

    • Liaise with external technology providers and vendors

    • Escalate complex technical issues to senior colleagues or external support partners

    • Help maintain good cybersecurity practices across the organisation

    • Provide occasional support outside normal office hours when required

    What we need

    • Professional working proficiency in both Japanese and English

    • A relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or another technology-related subject

    • Some practical IT experience gained through employment, an internship, placement or hands-on training

    • A good foundation in Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware and networking

    • An understanding of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Entra ID or Azure

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    • An approachable and professional communication style

    • Good organisation and attention to detail

Microsoft or networking certifications would be beneficial but are not essential. Exposure to PowerShell, Power BI, cybersecurity or IT service-management processes would also be useful.

    What you will receive

You will gain broad exposure across IT support, Microsoft cloud technology, infrastructure, security and project delivery.

You will work alongside experienced technology professionals and external partners, giving you the opportunity to develop business-critical skills and take on greater responsibility as your experience grows.

The position is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with genuine potential to become permanent
