How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

    Location: Stafford
    Salary: £34,000 Basic + uncapped Bonus
    OTE: Up to £41,230 uncapped
    Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm + 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm

    We're looking for an experienced technician to join a busy and professional workshop in Stafford. You'll work alongside an experienced team carrying out servicing, vehicle health checks, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, with access to manufacturer-accredited training and Hybrid & Electric vehicle development.

    THE ROLE
    As a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic, you'll play an important role within the workshop, ensuring vehicles are inspected, serviced and repaired to a high standard.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    ·Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
    ·Conducting servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements
    ·Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
    ·Carrying out additional repairs once authorised
    ·Completing warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer requirements
    ·Carrying out road tests to ensure repairs have been completed correctly
    ·Completing all relevant paperwork accurately
    ·Maintaining high standards of workmanship and efficiency
    ·Working safely and following all workshop and manufacturer procedures
     
    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for a skilled technician with:
    ·NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
    ·Strong mechanical knowledge and repair skills
    ·Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
    ·Full UK driving licence
    ·Self-motivated and reliable approach
    ·Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    ·High standards of workmanship
    ·Ambition to develop technically and progress your career
    Previous main dealer experience is advantageous but not essential. Full manufacturer accreditation and training can be provided for the right candidate.
