How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

An established food manufacturing business is looking for a Product Quality Assurance Technician to support the site’s technical and production teams, ensuring that products consistently meet the required standards for food safety, legality and quality.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with production and has a strong eye for detail. You’ll carry out routine quality checks, monitor packing standards, maintain accurate records and support the investigation of any quality issues that arise.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out and record quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products.

    * Check that products are correctly labelled and meet the required specification.

    * Ensure the correct and most up-to-date specifications and documentation are being used.

    * Monitor production and packing lines, identifying issues such as quality defects, foreign body risks, packaging problems or labelling errors.

    * Check that quality equipment is maintained appropriately and calibrated at the required intervals.

    * Support taste panels, shelf-life assessments and other product evaluations where required.

    * Work closely with QA, Production, Line Leaders and wider teams to communicate quality concerns and identify improvements.

    * Ensure all quality checks and processes are completed in line with site procedures.

    * Assist with investigations into non-conformances, quality issues and customer complaints, helping to implement corrective actions.

    * Provide support to wider teams across the site when required, particularly during quieter periods.

    About You

    * Previous experience within a food manufacturing or fresh produce environment; soft fruit experience would be particularly advantageous.

    * A good understanding of quality and food safety principles.

    * Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing checks and documentation.

    * Good computer skills and confidence using standard systems.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    * The flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and working hours.

    * The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player
