How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Hydraulic Engineer
    £30,000 - £35,000 + Bonus + Training + Progression + Company Benefits

    Are you a Civil/Mechanical Engineering graduate or similar looking to develop a specialist career within hydraulic engineering?

    Do you want to join a specialist consultancy offering full, bespoke in-house training, where you can develop your skills across hydraulic modelling, physical testing and CFD?

    This is a specialist hydraulic engineering consultancy working across the UK and internationally on projects within the water and wastewater sectors. The company provides specialist physical hydraulic modelling, CFD and hydraulic analysis services, giving graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a career within a niche area of engineering.

    In this role you will initially support experienced engineers with physical hydraulic and CFD modelling projects, gaining hands-on experience in testing, analysis and model development. As you develop, you will take on more responsibility for your own projects, including hydraulic testing, analysis, reporting and client work.

    This role would suit a Civil/Mechanical Engineering graduate or similar looking to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering consultancy who offer full bespoke training.

    The role:

    Support physical hydraulic and CFD modelling projects
    Carry out hydraulic testing, analysis and interpretation
    Assist with model development, calibration and verification
    Prepare technical reports and project documentationThe person:
