How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a leading contractor in the water and utilities sector, is seeking a Project Manager to support a range of Clean Water projects across Yorkshire on an Outside IR35 contract basis. The role will involve managing civil engineering and utility schemes, with projects located across Bradford, West Yorkshire and surrounding areas. The ideal location is within reasonable travelling distance of Sheffield, which serves as the office base.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Managing the delivery of Clean Water projects from planning through to completion
    Overseeing replacement mains and rehabilitation schemes
    Co-ordinating service laying, slip lining and pipe bursting works
    Managing directional drilling activities and associated civil engineering works
    Overseeing transfers, relays and pipe testing
    Co-ordinating site teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
    Monitoring project progress, quality, health and safety and compliance
    Maintaining accurate project records and providing progress updates

    Job Requirements:

    Experience managing civil engineering projects within the water or utilities sector
    Practical knowledge of Clean Water projects, including mains replacement and rehabilitation
    Understanding of service laying, slip lining, pipe bursting and directional drilling
    Experience with transfers, relays and pipe testing
    Strong project management, communication and stakeholder co-ordination skills
    Ability to manage contractors, site teams and project resources effectively
    Strong understanding of health and safety, quality and environmental requirements
    Experience in Gas, Utilities or Wastewater will also be considered
    Willingness to work across Yorkshire, including Bradford and West Yorkshire
