How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Barry | Ad-Hoc & Long-Term Opportunities

    Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Barry? Academics are currently recruiting experienced LSAs for a range of ad-hoc and long-term positions within primary schools across Barry.

    Whether you prefer flexible day-to-day work or you're looking for something more consistent, we have a variety of opportunities available across different year groups and settings.

    The Roles

    As an Learning Support Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across Early Years, Progression Step 1, Progression Step 2 and Progression Step 3.

    Depending on the role, your responsibilities may include:

    Supporting pupils with their learning and development

    Providing one-to-one or small-group support

    Working alongside the class teacher to support lessons and activities

    Supporting pupils with ALN and additional learning needs

    Encouraging positive behaviour and pupil engagement

    Helping pupils develop confidence and independence

    Supporting classroom routines and day-to-day activities

    Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

    Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

    Following individual support plans and school safeguarding procedures

    We're Looking For

    Previous experience working as an LSA within a primary school setting - essential

    Experience supporting children across Early Years or different Progression Steps is desirable

    Reliable and professional

    Availability for either ad-hoc or long-term work

    Pay & Requirements

    £93 per day

    Potential increases depending on qualifications, experience and client rate

    Enhanced DBS - required

    EWC registration - required

    Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks

    If you don't currently have an Enhanced DBS or EWC registration in place, we can help you get these in process where required.
