How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The successful candidate will oversee the civils contractor responsible for piling and foundation works associated with the installation of a new 1,500-tonne-capacity silo, together with several smaller construction activities.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site professional to join an established project with the potential for further contract assignments.
    The role
    You will provide a strong CDM and site management presence throughout the project, ensuring that all civils activities are planned, coordinated and completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
    The project site is already established, with a site office, welfare facilities and the necessary construction documentation in place, including the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    * Overseeing the civils contractor and monitoring day-to-day site activities.
    * Supervising piling, foundations and associated groundworks for the new silo.
    * Maintaining and updating the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan.
    * Organising and leading regular CPHSP progress meetings.
    * Ensuring permits, risk assessments and method statements are issued, reviewed and kept up to date.
    * Monitoring contractor performance, progress and compliance with agreed requirements.
    * Ensuring works are completed to the required quality and standard.
    * Supporting a smooth handover from the civils phase to the mechanical and electrical construction teams.
    * Maintaining effective communication with the client, contractors and project stakeholders.
    * Promoting a safe, well-managed and professional site environment.
    Person Specification
    The successful CDM Site Manager will have previous experience managing industrial civils, piling or groundwork activities, ideally within a complex process, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Ideally, you should have:
    * A Civil or Mechanical Engineering qualification, such as an HNC, HND or degree.
    * Current and relevant CDM advisory and site management experience.
    * Previous experience overseeing industrial civils, piling and groundwork packages.
    * Strong knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
    * Experience managing contractors and coordinating site activities.
    * The ability to review and manage RAMS, permits and construction-phase documentation.
    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    * A proactive, hands-on approach to site management.
    * The confidence to challenge unsafe practices and maintain high standards.
    The following in date site qualifications are required:
    * SMSTS
    * Black Card construction management qualification
    * Appropriate CSCS certification.
