How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Hexham, working with pupils across Years 6-10.

    This is an immediate-start opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
    The Role

    You will be responsible for:

    Planning and delivering engaging lessons for pupils with SEN.
    Adapting teaching and learning to meet individual needs.
    Creating a positive, safe and supportive classroom environment.
    Working closely with teaching assistants, support staff and other professionals.
    Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
    Managing behaviour positively and effectively.
    Monitoring progress and contributing to individual education plans.
    The Ideal Candidate
    We are looking for someone who:

    Has qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
    Has experience working within an SEN/SEND setting.
    Has a patient, nurturing and inclusive approach.
    Can build positive relationships with pupils.
    Is confident managing challenging behaviour.
    Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
    Is available for an immediate start.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
