The school supports young people with SEMH needs, most of whom have EHCPs. It opened recently, has passed its pre-registration inspection and has plans to grow. The Deputy Headteacher will work alongside the Headteacher as part of a two-person senior team, helping to shape the school through its next stage of development.
The role
This is a hands-on senior leadership role in a trauma-informed, therapeutic setting, for a leader who wants to be the operational presence in school every day. You will:
* lead the curriculum and quality assurance across KS4 and KS5, including the outdoor learning offer
* take on SENCo or DSL responsibilities, depending on your experience
* lead pastoral care and teaching and learning, giving the Headteacher capacity to focus on strategy
* maintain clear routines and consistent expectations across the school day
* work closely with clinical and residential colleagues so expectations are consistent for pupils
About you
* QTS
* Experience at Assistant Headteacher level or above in a special or SEMH school
* Trauma-informed practice and experience of pupils with SEMH needs
* Confident working in a small, two-person senior leadership team
* A background in English, maths or outdoor learning would be an advantage

Full time and permanent. Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
