How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A well-established multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their growing Civil and Structural team in Witney. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Structural Engineer to work on a varied portfolio of projects while continuing towards chartered status.

The successful Structural Engineer will work across a range of sectors, including commercial, education, defence, residential and public sector schemes. Working closely with the Team Lead and wider multidisciplinary team, the Structural Engineer will help deliver practical, economical and coordinated structural engineering solutions from concept through to completion.

    The Structural Engineer Role

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing structural solutions that meet architectural requirements, technical standards and client expectations.

Responsibilities will include producing structural calculations, sketches and technical mark-ups for Technician draughting, undertaking structural surveys and preparing clear technical reports. The Structural Engineer will work with a range of structural materials, including steel, concrete, timber and masonry, across both new-build and refurbishment projects.

The Structural Engineer will also contribute to bid proposals and fee quotations, coordinate with internal and external design teams and support the development of strong client relationships.

Due to the nature of some projects, the successful candidate will need active UK SC Clearance or the ability to obtain it.

    The Structural Engineer

The successful Structural Engineer will have:

Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

Working towards Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IStructE

Experience across new-build, refurbishment and alteration projects

Experience designing in steel, concrete, timber and masonry

Strong knowledge of UK structural design standards and regulations

Ability to produce structural calculations, sketches and technical reports

Familiarity with BIM and 3D design software, ideally Revit

Strong written and verbal communication skills

    A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Ability to obtain UK SC Clearance

    In Return

    £45,000 salary

25 days' holiday plus bank holidays

    Flexible and remote working opportunities

    Company pension scheme

    Professional membership support

Health cash plan and wellbeing programmes

Structured training, mentoring and career development

    Cycle to work scheme

    Regular team and social events

    Additional volunteering leave

This is a strong opportunity for a Structural Engineer looking to broaden their project experience and progress towards chartership within an established multidisciplinary consultancy
