How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Duties for the position of Team Leader - Multi Trades in Oxfordshire include:

    * Be accountable for the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of responsive repairs across roofing, tiling, plastering, decorating, brickwork, and groundwork, ensuring all work meets technical standards and customer expectations.

    * Act as the first point of escalation for complex or technical trade queries – providing guidance and solutions to operatives.

    * Work closely with other Team Leaders and Planners to allocate jobs efficiently, making sure the right skills are matched to the right work.

    * Ensure robust quality control of repairs, carrying out regular site visits and inspections to check workmanship standards, customer satisfaction, and compliance with health & safety requirements.

    * Lead toolbox talks and on-site coaching for operatives to reinforce safe working practices, trade skills, and customer-first behaviours.

    * Support trade staff in adopting modern techniques and materials where appropriate, improving productivity and first-time fix outcomes.

    * Proactively manage the flow of responsive repairs, anticipating seasonal and weather-related peaks (e.g. roofing in winter) and adjusting resource plans accordingly.

    * Maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships to ensure availability of specialist materials, plant, and equipment specific to these trades.

    * Liaise with clients, customers and other areas of the business to ensure service satisfaction is maximised and concerns are resolved quickly

    * Review and identify actions that deliver quality improvements

    * Empower the team to deliver excellent customer service

    * Ensure customer expectations are set and met when dealing with challenging situations

    * Keep all records up to date and stored on appropriate systems

    * Take an active role in management and leadership meetings, forums and development

    * Take an active role in cross-organisational projects as required

    * Participating in the Duty Officer out of hour’s emergency standby rota and attending to out of hours emergency situations when called out in accordance with Terms of Contract

    To apply for the role of Team Leader - Multi Trades in Oxfordshire you should have some of the following skills and experience:

    * Extensive experience in building repairs and maintenance ideally from a trade background but not essential.

    * A proven track record in a similar role

    * Significant Experience of building services IT systems and Microsoft packages

    * Proven ability to ensure the delivery of high-quality work and deliver customer satisfaction

    * Experience of working within cost/budget constraints and identifying efficiencies wherever possible

    * Experience of providing training/coaching/mentoring in a similar environment

    * Proven ability to deliver against stretching KPIs

    * Demonstrable experience of embedding a safety culture, ensuring that teams adopt the same approach

    * Excellent customer service approach

    * A full driving licence

    * A flexible approach to delivery and ability to re-plan and prioritise workload to ensure business and customer needs are met

    * A very good knowledge of building & construction health and safety requirements, preferably SMSTS qualified.
