How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location; Wellingborough

We are working with a well-established food manufacturer operating within the milling sector. The site runs around the clock, combining heavy process machinery with fast-moving packaging lines, and has a strong focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a small, close-knit engineering team. You will split your time between reactive breakdown cover and planned maintenance, keeping both the process plant and packaging lines running at their best.

This role would suit an electrical maintenance engineer from a food, FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing background who enjoys variety. With such a broad mix of equipment there is plenty to test your skills, and as part of a smaller team you will have real ownership of your work.

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias:

Respond quickly to breakdowns, carrying out systematic electrical and mechanical fault finding

Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with the CMMS schedule

Strip down, inspect, repair and rebuild machinery across process and packaging equipment

Source, order and manage spare parts stock

Identify and drive continuous improvements to boost efficiency and reliability

Keep accurate maintenance records and work to high safety, hygiene and environmental standards

Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias:

HNC/HND or a recognised apprenticeship in electrical or multi-skilled engineering

Strong electrical fault-finding skills, backed by a solid mechanical understanding

    Working knowledge of pneumatics

Maintenance experience within a fast-moving manufacturing environment, ideally food or FMCG

A calm, organised approach with good prioritisation under pressure

Proactive, flexible and keen to find better ways of working

Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias:

    £60,000 basic salary

    4 on 4 off shift pattern – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

    Enhanced holiday entitlement

Company sick pay and life insurance

    EV/ULEV car scheme

    Cycle to work scheme

If you feel this Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias role is right for you, please contact Grace Oliver or Emma Devereux at Maintech Recruitment for more information or click apply.
