How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    My client and I have an exciting opportunity for a confident, proactive and well-organised individual to join our Private Client Department. The successful candidate will have experience across a broad range of Private Client matters and will play an active role in the growth and development of the practice at branch level.

    About the Candidate

    My client is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience across mainstream Private Client matters. You will have experience preparing wills ranging from straightforward matters through to complex estate planning involving trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, as well as preparing and registering Powers of Attorney, including EPAs and LPAs. The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously within a branch office while providing leadership, support and mentoring to a small team. You will have the ambition and commitment to develop the practice, nurture client relationships and identify opportunities for growth. An established following would be welcomed but is not essential.

    About the Role

    As a Private Client, you will provide a high-quality ongoing service to existing clients, advising on wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning, LPAs, EPAs and Court of Protection matters. You will manage a varied caseload and undertake fee-earning work accurately, in accordance with the firm’s quality, risk and compliance procedures. The role will involve providing leadership within the Private Client department, contributing to its growth through team management, service development and strategic planning. You will support the supervision, mentoring and development of junior team members, while working collaboratively with Partners and fee earners to develop new business and build client and referrer relationships. You will also contribute to the firm’s business development activities, maintain effective financial control including billing and cash-flow management, and keep fully informed of changes in law and practice to maintain and enhance your legal and technical skills.

    Location: Stamford, may have to commute to Bourne and Merket Deeping offices.

    Department: Private Client Department

    Hours: 9am – 5.15pm, Monday to Friday

    Salary: Depending on experience

    Skills and Attributes

    -Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive

    -Experience across mainstream Private Client matters, including wills, Powers of Attorney and mental capacity issues

    -Experience in tax planning and estate administration

    -Understanding of the benefit and use of trusts

    -Experience leading a small team

    -Experience working autonomously within a branch office

    -Experience supporting business development and client relationship growth

    -High level of competency using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

    -STEP qualified or a desire to qualify would be desirable

    -Experience advising agricultural and business clients would be desirable

    -Competent in using case management systems would be desirable

    -Clear understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection

    -Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance)

    -Willingness to travel to other office locations as required
