How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are working with a well-established and highly respected engineering and infrastructure business operating across the UK's energy and utilities sector to assist them in hiring a Construction Manager for their growing team in Aviemore.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager with a strong electrical power background to take a leading role in the delivery of major projects. You will oversee construction activities from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to programme while maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors and project stakeholders.

As the Construction Manager your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    * Leading the day-to-day construction delivery of major electrical power distribution projects.
    * Managing site teams, subcontractors and resources to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
    * Developing and managing construction programmes, coordinating activities and ensuring key project milestones are achieved.
    * Ensuring all construction activities comply with health & safety requirements, including CDM regulations and relevant industry standards.
    * Monitoring project progress, costs, quality and resources, providing regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
    * Working closely with customers, contractors, engineers and regulatory bodies to resolve issues and ensure successful project delivery.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    * Experience working on DNO/electricity projects, or strong experience in HV/LV cable laying, switchgear installation, cable jointing and commissioning.
    * Proven experience managing construction delivery within the energy, utilities, power distribution or electrical engineering sector.
    * A proven track record of delivering large-scale engineering, construction or power distribution projects.
    * Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations, with a strong commitment to safe working practices.
    * Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing customers, contractors and project teams.

    What's in it for you?

    * The opportunity to join an established and growing business operating within the UK energy and infrastructure sector.
    * A senior construction role with responsibility for the successful delivery of major power distribution projects.
    * Competitive salary and benefits package, alongside long-term career development opportunities.
